Over a year ago we started talking about having a family reunion for my side of the family.
After all, it had only been 21 years since our last one!
After a survey, we decided to have it on the last 3 days of the year in 2010 hoping that as many people as possible would be able to come.
65 of the 94 people were able to make it! Yeah!
It was FANTASTIC!
We would do it again in a heartbeat!
(A group picture will be coming shortly - stay tuned)
On the first day we met at a church building.
Here we are eating lunch provided by the Wildings.
Each family was in charge of a meal.
Some of the young married couples were played games.
A group of youngsters went with Joe Wilding to the park,
but I don't have pics of that... yet.
After lunch Wendy put together the cake she had made.
Here is Katie B showing off her flower!
There is an entire post dedicated to this amazing cake earlier.
Wendy and Charles Naselli
and THE CAKE - a huge highlight the event!
Katie Jane Anderson and Ashlyn May
These 2 had never played together until that day. One lives in Georgia and one lives in Utah. They're both 4 years old, less than 3 months apart in age. They had soooooooo much fun!
Grandpa Buttle was teaching them how to make paper airplanes
After dinner we started eating the cake. Here is Carter's piece.
Audrie didn't eat her piece but this will be a memory forever!
After dinner we watched a DVD that Kari put together for us. It had ALL 94 people in order of their appearance into our family, all put to music. It was a huge investment of her time (especially since she just had her first baby) and we apprecaite it!
THANK YOU KARI!!!
We played a trivia game that was surprisingly fun.
Example:
Who has the longest name including maiden name?
Jennifer Ann VanderToolen Buttle
Shortest name?
Mason P Warr
Most popular day of the month to be born on?
16th
Who weighed the most at birth?
Malcolm Wood (10 lbs 4 oz)
Who weighted the least at birth?
Kelly Buttle (4 lbs 10 oz)
The next 3 pics are of people playing the trivia game...
Ashlyn didn't know any of the answers but hey, she was having fun too!
