Sally Magleby Buttle's 85th Birthday!

My mom turned 85
and what a fun day we had!
Geralynn, Shaleen, Janalee and I drove to Greenville, SC
where our 5th sister lives!!!!
There we met with Wendy and Christine and Bethany
at Mary's
in downtown Greenville.
All the food was so good and the company was superb!

Then we took a stroll through lovely downtown Greenville.
There is a beautiful river running right through the town.
Janalee, Bethany Naselli, Karie, Christine Doucette, Sally, Geralynn

The most exciting announcement of the entire day was learning that
Nathan and Christine Doucette are expecting a baby in December!!!!!
That was mother's best birthday present!

Wendy and mom

Mom had to stop and chat with this man about his scooter.

And then he let her take it for a ride...

After stopping to see Marty and Bethany's apartment
and Nathan and Christine's home
and Charlie and Wendy's lot for their future home...

We went to the Naselli's
where last minute preparations were being done BY THE MEN!
We ladies just relaxed...
and sat around the piano and watched John play.
John and I played some duets too.

Thanks to Charlie and Nate and John for their excellent service!

The menu...

And of course Wendy Naselli made a beautiful cake!
"What?" you may ask "is the butterfly supposed to represent?"

It represents quilting - mom's favorite hobby!
Here is the quilt Wendy used to design the cake.
This is just part of a quilt that mom made about 1977, all by hand, every stitch.
Darn good likeness, don't you think?
The cake was fresh apple with cream cheese frosting.
Mother currently has a large portion of it in her fridge!!!!!

And then it was mom's turn...
to do something for others on her birthday!
She had come prepared to give quilts to the Naselli's!
Imagine that!

She enjoyed her 85th birthday soooooooo much!
Thanks to the Naselli's for making it so special!
And we gals had chat time for 3 hours each direction!
