Visiting DC

Michael took the day off of work and the three of us
visited Washington DC, Michael at the wheel -
he was an excellent companion!
Our favorite by far was
ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY!
We were trying to get everything in in one day
so we walked VERY quickly to the
TOMB OF THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER
and got there just in time to see
the changing of the guard.
 This was reverent.
I sat there and meditated.

We toured the home of
General Lee, right there at Arlington Cemetery
It was fascinating!
5 of his 7 children never married
and there are only 23 descendants today
with the last name of Lee.

Arlington National Cemetery is HUGE!

Air and Space Museum -
of course we went there with Michael!

There is so much to visit here.
We walked and walked and walked and walked!
And Michael in flip flops?  He was a trooper.
I finally sat down and waited for him to go get the car.  Ha!

The White House is right in the middle of
SO MUCH BUZY-Ness and business!

Washington Monument
...that we just walked on by... we were exhausted!
Getting out of Washington was a nightmare
but at least we were in good company!
We love out country!
