A Very Good Day

Our children know this area as Rock Town.

It's in Lafayette, GA.

Ron and I headed there last weekend

but ended up checking out things we had not seen before.

Ron goes online and takes adventures through Google Earth

and learns about things in the area.

As we got to Lafayette, GA

he just knew there was this "Blue Hole" somewhere close by.

We found it!

I've learned to just go with the flow - enjoy the adventure!

 So what's the big deal, yup, it's blue.

Lucky for us there were locals there who told us some stories, like

"I've jumped into this blue hole and you cannot touch the bottom."

"This goes into a big cave system underground."

That wasn't surprising since there are over 80 caves in that there mountain.

Here's another:

"My grandmother who grew up here...she put a watermelon in the water in Ellison cave and the watermelon popped out of this Blue Hole 2 weeks later."

The water is very cold!

Here is an entrance to one of the caves.

Petty Johns Cave

Standing there you can feel the 58 degree air coming up from the ground.

We had no gear so we did not attempt to go in.

 

Then we drove up to the overlook

We weren't the only ones there

2 para-sailers were waiting for the wind...

which did not come for the hour we were there

so they ran and jumped off anyway.

 

After talking with the locals, we learned about this spot.

After a good rain storm there is a beautiful waterfall here.

 

Some people were rappelling rocks like these.

We were just enjoying nature...and each other.

 

Of course, we started our day here...

 

And then we got back in time for the RS Broadcast.

That was A VERY GOOD DAY!
